We foster programs in the areas of basic, translational, mechanistic and population research. *Position Summary:*We are seeking a motivated individual to contribute to research at the intersection of robotics, rehabilitation, and neuroscience. The candidate will be responsible for programming and maintaining gait exoskeleton systems, developing and implementing real-time control algorithms in C/C++, Python, and Simulink, as well as integrating feedback from wearable sensors (e.g., accelerometry, electromyography) and ultrasound imaging. The position involves working directly with clinical populations on projects in the field of multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders, and transverse myelitis of any other cause, to design and conduct experiments assessing functional outcomes using motion capture and dynamometry. The successful candidate will also perform data analysis, prepare internal progress reports for the Principal Investigator at UNC Chapel Hill Department of Neurology Multiple Sclerosis/Neuroimmunology Division and a Co-Principal Investigator at NC State University, present and contribute to presentations at internal meetings and external conferences. The candidate will not be involved in research outside of the field of multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders, and transverse myelitis of any other cause. Additional responsibilities include writing, reviewing, and editing journal manuscripts, training other team members (graduate and undergraduate students who will be working on the projects conducted under the collaborative oversight from the UNC Chapel Hill Department of Neurology Multiple Sclerosis/Neuroimmunology Division PI and NC State University Co-PI), developing and collaborating on the development of research proposals for internal and external funding opportunities. *Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:*PhD Degree in Biomedical Engineering. *Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:*Must have experience in programming and maintaining gait exoskeleton systems.
