Job Description: Southbourne Rubber (SBR) is a fast-growing manufacturer of specialist rubber components, including O-Rings and Grommets, for aerospace and military applications. We are seeking a Quality & Environmental Engineer to join our team and help ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about quality assurance, continuous improvement, and environmental responsibility. Key Responsibilities Conduct inspections (first-off, last-off, incoming/outgoing goods) using mechanical/electronic measuring equipment. Verify components against drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Manage non-conformance processes and liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal teams. Complete and verify production documentation and certificates of conformity. Support internal audits and maintain compliance with AS9100 and ISO14001 standards. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives including 6S and lean manufacturing. Represent quality in Tier meetings and external audits when required. What We’re Looking For Education : HNC/HND in Engineering, Level 3 NVQ, or Graduate-level qualification. Experience : Minimum 2 years in aerospace, automotive, or similar industry; or strong academic background seeking growth in Quality Management. Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), FAI, PFMEA, and Control Plans. Certifications (Preferred but not essential) : AS9100/ISO9001 Auditor ISO14001 Auditor Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing
