Petroff Amshen LLP (Brooklyn, NY) is seeking two (2) Associate Attorneys with 2–5 years of litigation experience to join our Consumer Protection team, specifically focusing on Foreclosure Defense and Federal Civil Litigation . Key Responsibilities Advocate for Homeowners & Consumers: Represent clients in foreclosure defense actions, consumer protection lawsuits, and related civil litigation in New York state and federal courts. Litigate & Lead Cases: Handle cases from pleading through trial – draft pleadings, motions, and briefs; manage discovery; and appear for hearings, conferences, and mediations. You’ll take an active role in courtroom proceedings and negotiations. Collaborative Case Strategy: Work closely with a tight-knit team of attorneys on legal strategy. You will participate in brainstorming and decision-making for each case, ensuring the best outcomes for our clients. Client-Focused Service: Maintain open communication with clients, explaining legal options and keeping them informed. Provide compassionate, client-centered counsel while aggressively advocating to protect their rights and homes. Qualifications Education & Bar Admission: J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in New York (required) . New Jersey bar admission is a plus. Experience: 2–5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in foreclosure defense, consumer protection, or related areas . Experience in federal court litigation is highly valued. Credit for Diverse Experience: We welcome candidates with a variety of backgrounds – experience litigating in other jurisdictions (including international experience or practice via an LL.M.) will be fully counted toward the experience requirement. Skills: Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills. Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for delivering justice to vulnerable clients .
