Catering Equipment Engineer

Location: North East England Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per year bonuses Job Type: Full-time The Role We are looking for an experienced Commercial Catering Equipment Engineer to join our growing team. The role involves carrying out both reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance on a wide range of gas and electric commercial catering equipment across the North East of England. This is a hands-on role where you will be diagnosing faults, repairing equipment, and ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum. You will also play a key part in ensuring compliance, safety, and excellent service delivery to our clients. Key Responsibilities * Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs on a variety of gas and electric catering equipment * Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise breakdowns and extend equipment life * Identify and source replacement parts where required * Ensure all work complies with health & safety and industry standards * Provide technical advice and training to end-users on correct and safe equipment use * Deliver a high standard of customer service while working independently and as part of a team Experience & Skills Required * Proven experience in the service, repair, and maintenance of commercial catering equipment * Gas Safe qualifications: COMCAT 1, 3, and 5 are essential (LPG desirable – training can be provided) * Good knowledge of both gas and electrical systems * Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills with the ability to work under pressure * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Full UK driving licence Benefits * Competitive salary: £44,000 – £48,000 per year * Performance-related bonus yearly bonus * Company pension scheme * Regular overtime available * Monday to Friday schedule with weekend availability
