Sales & Marketing Manager – Construction / M&E Salary: Open to discussion (depending on experience) Location: London Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent A growing engineering and construction services company is seeking a dynamic Sales & Marketing Manager to drive business development, strengthen client relationships, and support the bid and tender pipeline. This role is ideal for someone who has previously worked in well-established construction or building services companies, and is eager to progress into a Sales Director position in the future. The right candidate will be confident, personable, commercially aware, and relentless in gathering information, nurturing relationships, and opening doors for the engineering team. You don’t need an existing book of contacts—just ambition, industry understanding, and the confidence to build and grow a strong network. Key Responsibilities * Develop new business opportunities and generate leads across the construction and M&E sectors. * Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and potential clients. * Identify upcoming projects—locations, scopes, key decision-makers, commercial leads, labour managers, and subcontractor involvement. * Schedule and attend client meetings, networking events, and site visits to gather project intelligence. * Act as the key coordinator to ensure the engineering team is positioned for tender opportunities. * Maintain an up-to-date pipeline of future projects, opportunities, and client activity. * Understand project workflows and client structures to provide clear insight: – who runs the project – who controls costs – who manages labour – key subcontractors involved * Work closely with the internal team to support tender submissions and secure new work. * Represent the company professionally, confidently, and with a solution-focused attitude. * Support marketing activity including branding, content, events, and client communications. Requirements * Proven experience in a sales, business development, or client-facing role within the construction or M&E sector. * Experience working for reputable companies in the built environment (no need to list them). * Strong communication skills—friendly, confident, persistent, and comfortable asking questions. * Ability to gather detailed project information and translate it into tangible opportunities. * Commercially minded with an understanding of tendering, project flow, and construction stakeholders. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to track multiple clients and opportunities. * Ambition to progress into a Sales Director role. * Full UK driving licence.
