With a rich history and strong presence in the IT services and solutions industry, Improving Calgary, formerly known as Quadrus, has been serving Canada for over twenty years before becoming part of Improving in 2013 For our client, we are rewriting a legacy POS backend that services their wholesale customer base. This is an opportunity to work with the architect and lead a small team in implementing a event and message driven solution using serverless architecture. We'll also be leveraging Terraform with the AWS suite of solutions. Note: Even though it's showing 4 months, there is potential to extend longer Key Deliverables: The key deliverable here is a robust backend to support their POS wholesale business. Required Skills: Understanding and usage of software engineering design patterns using Java Experience with event and/or message driven solutions as well as the technologies involved, e.g. RabbitMQ, SQS, SMS, Kafka Experience building serverless solutions within the AWS ecosystem using Terraform
