Key Responsibilities Lead a capable and dedicated finance team of eighteen. Oversee all aspects of the Council’s financial strategy, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting, rating and payroll. Support large‑scale capital projects such as the Innisfail Gateway and Easton Estate Development. Provide expert guidance on financial performance, governance, and sustainability to the Executive Leadership Team, elected members, and senior managers. Ensure robust financial management practices and strategic objectives underpin the Council’s ability to deliver on its priorities. Qualifications and Experience Strong background in financial management, ideally within local government or a similarly complex, high‑scrutiny regulated environment. Ability to navigate complexity, manage political and operational challenges, and provide calm, credible leadership. Confidence in balancing strategic oversight with hands‑on engagement, and respect for deep knowledge within the team.
