The role The Principal Cloud Consultant is a senior member of our Public Cloud Practice and will be based in Perth. The role provides deep technical expertise and thought leadership across our strategic accounts, ensuring customers receive scalable, secure, and modern cloud solutions. While solution creation is owned by the Customer Solutions (presales) team, the Principal Cloud Consultant plays a critical consultative role by influencing, reviewing, and shaping solution direction to ensure alignment with best practice and delivery feasibility. The role combines technical leadership, client engagement, practice contribution, and mentoring responsibilities. The Principal Cloud Consultant also acts as an embedded resource within select customer accounts, driving shared outcomes and serving as an extension of our wider capability. Key responsibilities Technical Leadership Lead the design, governance, and implementation of enterprise platform engineering solutions, aligning with Cloud Adoption and Well Architected frameworks from AWS and Microsoft. Champion a code-first approach, minimising ClickOps and driving the creation of reusable blueprints and automation to reduce operational effort and accelerate delivery. Provide expertise in Azure and AWS services, including Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and Bicep, and CI/CD pipeline delivery. Apply Linux architectural knowledge across tertiary and enterprise environments to deliver secure, reliable and automated platforms. Promote the adoption of DevOps and Platform Engineering principles, including CI/CD practices, backlog management, and agile methods, while recognising when waterfall delivery is required. Delivery & Quality Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at high quality that aligns with customer outcomes. Contribute to presales activities by reviewing proposals, validating delivery feasibility, and influencing technical direction. Manage risks, provide accurate estimates, and maintain accountability for solution outcomes. Client Engagement Act as a trusted advisor for senior stakeholders within Brennan’s strategic accounts and as an embedded resource where appropriate. Build and maintain relationships that support long‑term customer value. Identify opportunities for service improvement, upsell, and innovation. Practice Contribution Mentor and develop consultants, supporting professional growth within the practice. Collaborate with peers across Infrastructure, End User Computing, and Modern Workplace practices to ensure integrated delivery. Develop reusable IP, frameworks, blueprints, and accelerators to improve efficiency and consistency. Contribute to Brennan’s thought leadership through documentation, forums, and external engagements. General Perform any other tasks or duties aligned with your role or in support of your team as advised by your leader. Acting as an embedded resource within select customer accounts. Skills and experience you'll bring Minimum 5 years in a lead consultant role within a systems integrator or equivalent environment. Certifications: Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, HashiCorp Terraform Associate. Strong technical knowledge of Azure and AWS infrastructure services, Linux architecture (tertiary and enterprise environments), and multi‑cloud automation. Proven application of DevOps and Platform Engineering practices, including Terraform, Bicep, CI/CD, and agile delivery methods. Demonstrated experience leading enterprise‑level engagements with measurable outcomes. Highly developed communication and facilitation skills, able to engage at both technical and executive levels. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements. Note: As part of our hiring process, you will be required to undertake a National Criminal History Check.
