Job Description

Vice President - Australian Private Equity Fund - Sydney JS Careers is excited to partner with one of Australia's leading private equity funds on the appointment of a new investment professional. Our client has been a highly successful and influential player in the private capital investment sector over the recent decade. As a result of continued success and team growth, they are seeking a new Investment Manager to join the team in Sydney. To be considered for this Investment Manager position, professionals require 5-8 years of experience, with multiple years spent working in a direct investment / private equity business. Responsibilities Supporting origination efforts by identifying and assessing potential investment opportunities through industry research, networking, and advisor engagements. Leading preliminary screening and evaluation of opportunities, including financial analysis, market and competitive analysis, risk assessment and preparation of internal investment papers. Leading due diligence workstreams on prospective investments, including managing external advisors, coordinating with key stakeholders, and preparing high-quality diligence outputs and Investment Committee materials. Reviewing, structuring, and negotiating transaction documentation, including term sheets, financing documents, and sale and purchase agreements. Managing portfolio companies post-investment, working closely with management teams to refine strategy, monitor performance, and drive value creation initiatives. Preparing regular portfolio reporting, including investor updates, board papers, fund reporting and analysis. Supporting broader fund operations as required, including internal process improvement, marketing and brand-building activities. Qualifications 5 years’ experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, strategy consulting, or a similar investment/transaction-focused environment. Strong financial modelling, valuation and analytical capabilities, with sound commercial judgment. Demonstrated ability to independently manage projects with multiple stakeholders and workstreams. Experience reviewing or negotiating key transaction documents. Experience supervising or developing junior team members. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear, concise and persuasive analysis. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively in small teams, and confidently engage with management teams and advisors.
