About the role We are seeking an experienced financial wizard to manage and coordinate the finance function at Congress. This includes: Managing all internal and external financial reports, preparing the budget and monitoring, development of high-quality financial systems and internal controls, Timely and accurate processing of financial and payroll data and providing high level financial advice to the Congress Board, Executive and Senior Management, >Ensuring that all external statutory requirements in relation to financial accountability (including external audit) are complied with. This position will have responsibility for the management of finance section staff and efficient, smooth running of the finance section. The Chief Financial Officer is expected to actively contribute to the achievement of the Congress strategic plan. What You’ll Bring A degree qualification in Commerce, Finance or Economics (or equivalent). Membership of CPA Australia or ICCA. Relevant experience in the delivery of financial services at a management level. Extensive experience in the use of computerised financial packages and payroll systems, the efficient processing of data and distributed reporting. Demonstrated ability to achieve organisational and operational objectives through leading and developing individuals and teams. Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage staff and assist in the creation of a working environment that encourages work recognition and job satisfaction. Exemplary attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills including ability to prepare clear and concise reports, financial statements, submissions, briefings and general correspondence for use by management and boards. Professional and ethical approach to work with the ability to build rapport with a broad range of individuals and organisations. Demonstrated understanding of long term financial planning and strategic management of finances in a not for profit context.
