Senior Materials Planner

Our facility located in Puebla, MX is looking for a hands-on Senior Materials Planner to join our team! The role of the Senior Materials Planner will be responsible for ensuring material availability and resolving supply issues by planning optimal inventory levels through Material Requirements Planning (MRP). This position will manage inventory within established parameters to support projects and operations while maintaining service levels, minimizing investment, and aligning with company financial objectives. Responsibilities: Ensure material availability, including resolving supply shortages. Analyze cycle counts, identify root causes, and implement adjustments in coordination with the cycle counter. Maintain up-to-date master data in SAP (parts and supplier database). Plan demand, generate orders, and monitor deliveries. Monitor and manage stock levels. Plan transportation and delivery windows. Track deadlines for change and modification management. Communicate effectively with clients and suppliers. Monitor and document supplier performance. Upload ASNs (Advance Shipping Notices) into the system if not provided by the supplier. Implement ASN processes with all suppliers. Manage critical situations related to part acquisition. Supervise performance metrics and KPIs. Monitor supplier performance continuously. Track materials from dispatch to plant arrival. Control internal, safety, and in-transit stock levels. Manage special orders. Handle packaging returns. Utilize VW tools such as Proceso, BESI, and PDE. Profile: 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, with Volkswagen (VW) as a client. Bachelor’s or Engineering degree. High experience in materials planning and logistics. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel. Strong knowledge and practical experience with SAP. Familiarity with transportation regulations and standards. Extensive and detailed knowledge of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) – essential. Proven experience in VW project launches (pre-series) – essential. Ability to understand complex requirement programs and escalate issues to supplier management. Proficient with VW tools (Process, BESI, PDE). Knowledge of product safety standards.
