Job Description
My client are a growing Accounting Firm based in Melbourne's CBD. They are looking for a talented Business Services Accountant to join their team! About The Firm: They offer a dynamic, supportive environment that encourages ongoing learning and career progression. The team works with a variety of clients, from high-net-worth individuals to large enterprises, providing services ranging from tax compliance and advisory to financial reporting. The Role: As an Intermediate Accountant, you will work alongside a talented team of professionals and have the opportunity to develop your expertise in a range of accounting services. Key responsibilities include:Different to your usual Firm, more Advisory work & less pushing numbers.Dealing with clients hands on, fast tracking your learning & skills.Preparing financial statements, tax returns, and BAS for individuals, trusts, companies, and SMSFs.Assisting with tax planning and advisory services.Managing client relationships and maintaining regular communication.Reviewing work completed by junior staff and providing mentorship.Identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and process enhancements.Ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax legislation.Supporting senior team members with ad-hoc projects and client requirements. About You: To succeed in this role, you will need to have:A minimum of 2 years’ experience in public practice or a similar accounting environment.A relevant accounting degree and progress towards CPA/CA qualification (or equivalent).Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax and accounting standards.Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and other accounting software.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team.A strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.A proactive attitude with a genuine interest in professional development.
