Job Description
About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled, driven and strategic individual to join our Project Design Team. As a Senior CAD Officer, you will be creating civil drawings for road and traffic construction projects, preparing structural drawings compliant with required codes and standards, produce artworks, diagrams, figures for publications as well as produce sketches and deposited plans in line with relevant standards and regulations. What this role looks like: Create civil drawings for road and traffic engineering construction projects using CAD software, including AutoCAD, in accordance with industry standards, Council specifications and best practice.Prepare structural drawings in accordance with AS 1100.501 Structural and AS 1100.301 Architectural and the Transport for NSW Structural Drafting and Detailing ManualEnsure design model data is accurately converted into drawings and add large amounts of additional information to convey design intent and meticulously meet all project and specification requirements.Produce artwork, diagrams and figures for inclusion in Specifications, Guides, Manuals, Newsletters, Environmental Instruments and other publications.Produce survey sketches and Deposited Plans in accordance with surveyor requirements and Registrar General Guidelines and Lodgement Rules and Schedule 5 of the Surveying and Spatial Information Regulation 2017Collaborate with designers and other professionals to determine project requirements, timelines and specifications. What are we seeking in our new team member: Certificate IV Engineering Drafting or Certificate III in Engineering – Technical or relevant disciplineWhite Card – General Construction InductionDrivers Licence (Class C) NSWProficiency in using CAD software (including AutoCAD) in creating and modifying 2D and 3D models, generating views and layouts, managing layers and attributes, and using dimensioning and annotation tools.Sound Knowledge of AS 1100 (the series of Australian Standards for engineering and technical drawing) and Transport for NSW CAD standards is crucial. This includes understanding conventions for dimensions, symbols, and other aspects of technical drawings.Ability to interpret technical drawings, communicate effectively with colleagues, prepare schedules for drawings such as drainage structure schedules, and maintain accurate records of CAD processes.
