Job Description

As a GIS Functional & Technical Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining Service Stream’s enterprise geospatial data and application environment. This mid-level role blends functional analysis with hands-on technical expertise to deliver mapping, spatial analysis, and data integration solutions that support national operations. You’ll be part of a collaborative, high-performing team, with the flexibility to be based out of any of our major city offices for a minimum of at least three days per week. Preference is given to candidates based in Melbourne. About the roleLead stakeholder discovery sessions to gather GIS requirements.Design geospatial application architecture aligned with data governance.Integrate GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise) with business systems (ERP, Asset Management).Deliver user training and support for GIS tools and maps.Configure and develop web mapping applications and dashboards.Design and maintain enterprise geodatabases.Automate geospatial workflows using Python/ArcPy.Lead QA testing for new GIS deployments.Ensure spatial data integrity through validation and geoprocessing.Manage and query spatial databases using SQL and extensions (PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial).Conduct advanced spatial analysis and produce executive-level reports.Maintain metadata governance for all geospatial assets. Skills and experience3–5 years of experience in an enterprise GIS environment.Must have Australian Citizenship.Expertise in ESRI ArcGIS Platform (Pro, Enterprise, Online).Strong Python scripting skills (ArcPy) and SQL proficiency (including spatial extensions).Experience with cloud-based GIS (AWS or Azure) and other geospatial tools (QGIS, Leaflet, Google Maps).Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.GIS certification (e.g., Esri Technical Certification or GISP) preferred.
