Job Title: Business Development Manager – Card Issuing Location: Sydney or Melbourne (Hybrid)Department: Sales & PartnershipsReports to: GM and Director of Sales About Build (Part of the Bolt Group)Build is a Banking as a Service (BaaS) provider delivering next-generation financial infrastructure to fintechs, payment innovators, and digital asset businesses across APAC.Our platform connects banking, payments, card issuing, FX, and compliance capabilities via a unified API helping partners scale faster, move money smarter, and operate with confidence in regulated markets. The OpportunityWe’re seeking an experienced Card Issuing Sales professional to drive growth across Australia and APAC. You’ll focus on acquiring and expanding partnerships with financial institutions, fintechs, banks, and Web3/crypto businesses clients looking to embed or scale card issuance in their products. You’ll bring a strong understanding of issuing, card scheme dynamics (Mastercard, Visa, UnionPay), BIN sponsorship models, and embedded finance, along with a proven track record of sales success and a strong network in one or more of our target sectors. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a go-to-market plan for card issuing and embedded finance solutionsIdentify, engage, and close new opportunities across fintech, FI, banking and Web3 segmentsLeverage your existing network to accelerate client acquisition and partnership opportunitiesManage complex sales cycles from opportunity discovery and commercial negotiation to contract closeCollaborate with internal product, compliance, and implementation teams to ensure seamless client deliveryRepresent Build at industry events, panels, and conferences (e.g., FinTech Australia, Intersekt, AusPayNet, AP et al)Track pipeline activity and provide accurate revenue forecasting Experience & Skills5 years of experience in payments, card issuing, or embedded finance salesStrong knowledge of card issuing, acquiring, and payment flowsFamiliarity with BIN sponsorship, KYC/AML, and scheme complianceEstablished client relationships in fintech, FI, banks, or Web3 industry segments (required)Proven ability to deliver and exceed sales targetsExcellent communication, commercial negotiation, and relationship management skillsEntrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving scale-up environment Why Join BuildBe part of one of Australia’s leading BaaS providers with a growing APAC footprintWork with a dynamic team building the infrastructure behind tomorrow’s digital economyCompetitive base salary uncapped incentive plan equity opportunitiesHybrid working environment with flexibility and autonomyExposure to leading fintech, banking, and Web3 innovators across the region
