Demonstrated technical expertise in ICT systems and infrastructure Demonstrated experience in providing technical support across a range of ICT systems, including diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Proven ability to implement and maintain ICT infrastructure such as Windows Server environments, Active Directory, system updates, security patching, and backups. 2. Proven ability to deliver and support ICT projects and initiatives Expertise in planning, coordinating, and delivering ICT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and technology rollouts, while ensuring minimal disruption to school operations. 3. Strong organisational and administrative skills Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate ICT documentation, including asset registers, service logs, and support records. 4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and timely advice to staff and students, and to explain technical information in plain language to non-technical users. 5. Commitment to professional learning and the Department¿s values Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement through ongoing professional development in ICT systems and support practices. Role There may be a requirement to attend during school holidays, this will be agreed/negotiated with the successful candidate. Range 3 is distinguished by the introduction of management responsibility and accountability for the delivery of professional support services. The role will usually impact beyond the work area or professional field. It seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, operations or educational programs. Direction on targets and goals is provided but the position will have some degree of latitude in determining how they are achieved. This latitude will generally be limited by standard procedures and school policy. Deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management. The provision of business management responsibilities becomes a feature at range 3. Management of staff to achieve the expected outcomes is a key responsibility. Staff management issues will be resolved with minimal reference to senior management, although guidance will be required in more complex cases. Senior management will be provided with timely reports and advice, although this will generally be confined to matters relating to the immediate work area, service provision or educational program and is unlikely to impact substantially on whole of school operations. This is the minimum range for positions that carry a mandatory qualification requirement of not less than four years. Professional student support positions become a feature at range 3 (e.g. therapists, psychologists) where standard professional services are delivered. Professional support and guidance will be close at hand and deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management. An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher. Responsibilities ICT Assistants provide daily technical and administrative support for the school¿s information and communication technology (ICT) systems. They assist staff and students with troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring equipment, managing networks, and promoting effective use of ICT tools. This role description is a guide only and is not intended to be an exhaustive or exclusive list of the duties attached to this position. It is subject to review and modification by the Principal, in response to the changing needs of the School, and the development of knowledge and skills. Any additional responsibilities as requested by the Principal Team or Business Manager shall be determined through consultation and agreement. Position responsibilities. This role may include but is not limited to: Provide general Level 1 & 2 helpdesk support (walk-ins and ticketing). Troubleshoot and resolve software, hardware, and peripheral issues. Support and maintain projectors, TVs, Airtames, Extron controllers, Yodeck displays, Webex devices, and classroom AV systems. Manage laptop and iPad trolleys, including preventative maintenance and updates. Apply basic networking and Cisco switch knowledge (e.g., VLAN port tagging). Assist with server infrastructure, print servers, and copier integration. Manage SOE imaging, MDT/WDS deployments, and task sequence adjustments. Support DISCO repairs, inventory, and asset labelling for staff and student laptops. Assist with NSSP tranches, device allocation, and collection. Provide MacBook setup and AD binding support for staff. Manage user accounts via AD, GPO, Google Admin Console, eduPass, Compass, and Microsoft 365. Use Jamf MDM for Apple device management and software deployment. Research, test, and document new systems and applications. Prepare user guides and technical documentation. Communicate clearly and respectfully with users, translating technical terms into accessible language. Maintain accurate records of troubleshooting steps and technical findings. Promote a positive, service-focused ICT culture built on collaboration and trust. Provide NAPLAN BYOD setup support and assist with related classroom presentations. Contribute to school ICT projects, researching and recommending products or services. Support school communications (e.g., website, newsletters). Comply with DET and school policies, procedures, and codes of conduct¿particularly regarding staff, student, and child safety. Work collaboratively with the Principal Team, Business Manager, and school staff.
