Lead Engineer, Electrical, Product Design and Engineering Join to apply for the Lead Engineer, Electrical, Product Design and Engineering role at Baker Hughes. As part of our Engineering and Technology team, you will partner with the best to lead the integration of electric motors and generators, scout innovative technologies, and expand our portfolio through technology development and program management. Responsibilities Design and develop new products, executing the program according to plans. Perform technical selection of electrical items such as MV generators, MV motors, and MV variable speed drive systems. Formulate functional purchase specifications and data sheets; align supplier technical proposals. Manage technical documentation during the engineering development phase, coordinating with suppliers and customers up to finalization. Carry out engineering design reviews with suppliers and customers to ensure compliance with contractual specifications and applicable international rules. Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) for main/critical items and support manufacturing for internal testing; provide engineering site support during plant commissioning and start‑up. Execute and coordinate electric studies, simulations, and electro‑mechanic studies using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, and DigSilent. Qualifications Relevant engineering experience in an engineering environment and a Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field. Excellent technical knowledge of electrical item design and selection, including rotating machines, MV/LV panels, and variable speed drive systems. Solid experience working with cross‑functional teams in a global‑matrix environment. Strong problem‑solving skills and an analytical approach to root‑cause analysis and solution implementation. Fluency in both English and Italian (oral and written) and possession of an EU passport or work permit.
