Back End Developer

Job Title: Backend / DevOps Engineer Contract: 18 months Location: Hybrid, Vancouver, BC Requirement: 4 days in the office, Downtown Vancouver Overview: We’re seeking a Backend / DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in AWS, Python, and Terraform to design, deploy, and maintain scalable, serverless cloud applications. This role combines back-end development with DevOps responsibilities to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of modern microservices architectures. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain serverless applications using AWS Lambda, Fargate, and API Gateway . Build and manage infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and CloudFormation . Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred). Develop and monitor cloud applications with Python , ensuring high performance and reliability. Set up monitoring and alerting using tools like CloudWatch, DataDog, or Splunk . Collaborate with engineers to deliver secure, efficient solutions and reusable infrastructure modules. Contribute to automation, documentation, and continuous improvement of DevOps practices. Qualifications: 5–8 years of Backend/DevOps experience. Hands-on expertise with AWS services , Python , and Terraform . Experience deploying and maintaining serverless microservices . Knowledge of RESTful APIs , CI/CD, and cloud observability tools. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
