Job Description
STAND 8 provides end to end IT solutions to enterprise partners across the United States with offices in Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, Atlanta and more, including internationally in Mexico, India and Japan. We are looking for a dedicated and customer-focused Tanium Engineer to join our team. As the first point of contact for our end user community, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, offering remote support, and ensuring that customers receive timely and efficient assistance. You should have experience in technical help desk support, including password resets, Active Directory issues, and the ability to remote into PCs to troubleshoot problems. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and problem-solver, with a proactive approach to resolving technical issues. A Tanium Engineer job involves deploying, configuring, and managing the Tanium Platform for endpoint security, patch management, and software deployment. Responsibilities include monitoring endpoints, creating automation scripts, and collaborating with other IT teams to ensure system security and compliance. Key skills include proficiency with the Tanium platform and its core modules, scripting (like Python or PowerShell), and knowledge of Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems. Core responsibilities Platform management: Deploy, configure, and manage Tanium modules like Asset, Patch, and Threat Response across an organization's environment. Endpoint monitoring: Continuously monitor enterprise endpoints for security vulnerabilities and operational status. Patch and software deployment: Oversee the deployment of security patches and software updates using the Tanium platform. Automation and scripting: Create and maintain automated scripts and packages to streamline tasks like software deployment, configuration, and reporting. Incident response: Assist with incident response and remediation initiatives, often collaborating with security and IT operations teams. Troubleshooting: Act as a subject matter expert to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Tanium platform and endpoints. Reporting and compliance: Generate reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs), ensure compliance, and monitor platform health. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Key skills and qualifications Tanium proficiency: Hands-on experience with the Tanium platform and its core modules. Scripting: Strong scripting abilities, especially with PowerShell, Python or Bash. Operating systems: Solid understanding of Windows, and macOS. Networking: Knowledge of fundamental networking concepts and protocols. Endpoint security: Familiarity with endpoint security and management best practices. Problem-solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to perform root-cause analysis on complex issues.
