Security Officer/FT(Florence, SC)

Job Description Summary Location: MUSC/Florence, SC. Full-time Security Officer position for MUSC Health Pee Dee Division. Responsibilities Protect and serve MUSC Health Pee Dee Division patients, staff, and visitors. Monitor and operate access control, security camera systems, intercoms, two-way radios, telephones, and alarm systems. Patrol facilities and grounds. Provide emergency assistance and response. Interact with patients, families, visitors, law enforcement and correctional officers. Support staff with security and safety concerns. Complete detailed notes, conduct investigations, interviews and write detailed incident reports. Qualifications Education: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. Work Experience: Minimum one (1) year relevant experience or appropriate education requirements. Preferred Experience: Healthcare security, corporate security, or law enforcement. Licenses & Certifications: Valid driver’s license in SC; completion of IAHSS Basic Certification within six (6) months of hire. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Maintain professionalism and deliver high-level customer service. Use of personal protective equipment. Radio communication proficiency. Rapid response to emergent situations. Verbal and written communication skills. Crime prevention strategies. Detects smoke, odors, and signs of safety issues. Computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail, alarm systems, access control software, and surveillance cameras. De-escalation tactics and handling crises (16-hour Handle with Care course). Physical components defense and restraint tactics. Knowledge of security practices. Physical Requirements Occasional (up to 33% of the time), Frequent (34%-66%), Constant (67%-100%). Tasks include standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling, stair climbing, reaching, lifting up to 20 lbs unassisted, lifting from 36” to overhead objects or >15 lbs.
