Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (Azure or GCP) Shape the Future of Cloud Engineering Are you ready to lead the next wave of cloud innovation? Join our Cloud Native Engineering Lab as a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer and help us design, build, and operate secure, automated cloud platforms that empower product teams to deliver API-first services at pace and with confidence. Responsibilities Engineering Leadership: Be a hands-on leader, balancing deep technical work with mentoring and coaching to raise the bar on reliability, security, and simplicity. Platform Development: Design, build, and operate cloud platform capabilities using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and modern CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Harness, Jenkins, Spinnaker). Security & Reliability: Embed secure-by-design principles from architecture to runtime, safeguarding colleagues and customers. Performance & Automation: Define and operate against SLOs/SLIs, implement actionable observability, performance tuning, and automation to reduce toil. API-First Enablement: Enable API-first delivery with reusable patterns and golden paths for API producers and consumers. Community & Mentorship: Mentor engineers, contribute to communities of practice, and uphold Platform Engineering standards. Qualifications Proven experience delivering large-scale systems with high performance, availability, and fault-tolerance. Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) and CI/CD systems. Deep knowledge of containers, orchestration (Kubernetes), and service-mesh patterns (Istio). Strong API design and security skills (REST/OpenAPI, authN/Z, mTLS, certificate lifecycle). Scripting proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, or Python. Depth in either Azure or GCP, with readiness to cross-train: Azure: ARM/Bicep, AKS, Application Gateway, API Management, Azure Storage. Or GCP: GKE, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud Armor, Istio, Stackdriver, Jenkins, Apigee. Desirable: Harness, HashiCorp Vault, Dynatrace, Docker/buildah, NodeJS for API tooling, relevant Azure or GCP certifications. Required Skills Delivered hybrid-cloud, automated platforms in agile teams. Collaborate across architecture and business stakeholders. Technology-agnostic mindset—choose the best tool for the job and stay curious. Enjoy mentoring and raising the engineering bar as a hands-on player-coach.
