Audit Associate

Job Purpose: Primary role is to review, verify and audit freight bills. Duties and responsibilities: Cross-check shipping documents, invoices, and other billing records to ensure that all charges are accurate and justified Identifying any overcharges, undercharges, or incorrect freight classifications, and ensuring the appropriate corrections are made Other duties may be assigned as needed Qualifications: 1 to 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field Analytical skills to assess freight bills, understand the details of each shipment and identify any discrepancies or errors. Knowledge of freight shipping regulations and procedures to ensure that all charges are compliant with relevant laws and regulations. Attention to detail to review complex freight bills, spot discrepancies and ensure all information is accurately recorded. Communication skills to interact with carriers, discuss discrepancies, and provide information to colleagues and superiors. Problem-solving skills to address and resolve any issues that arise during the auditing process, such as incorrect charges or discrepancies in shipment details. Proficiency in using computer systems and software used in freight auditing, data management and reporting. Understanding of accounting principles to manage billing, invoices, and payments effectively. Organizational skills to manage and maintain records of shipments, audits and payments.
