Job Description
Methode Electronics is looking for a highly technical, hands-on, and motivated Electrical Engineer responsible for design and develop low-voltage electrical and electronic products that meet customer specifications and company standards for quality, cost, and delivery. Serve as the technical interface between the design and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance with automotive requirements. This position supports all quotes for, and components manufactured products in our Monterrey area plants with the following responsibilities and qualifications: Position Responsibilities: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop new products and business opportunities. Translate engineering concepts into fully functional, error-free designs for production and sales. Develop electronic hardware and packaging designs based on customer requirements. Use CAD design tools (Orcad, DxDesigner, Altium, Multisim) to create schematics and PCB assemblies. Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) and release designs in the PLM system. Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure efficient and high-quality production. Apply APQP and automotive standards throughout the product lifecycle. Use structured problem-solving tools such as DFMEA, Fault Tree, Fishbone, and DMAIC. Define engineering specifications to ensure alignment with software and mechanical design teams. Ensure compliance with automotive safety, EMC, and quality standards. Conduct DVP&R tests, report results, and evaluate design robustness. Provide support for failure analysis, diagnostics, and warranty investigations. Comply with IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 14001:2015 requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Wide and demonstrable technical knowledge as Electrical Engineer. – At least 5 years of experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering (IEC) or Computer Systems Engineering (ISC). Master’s degree in electronic design or instrumentation – desirable. Good command of English, CET-4 or above (can communicate in English), Technical English is a must.
