Senior System Engineer

Position: Senior Systems Engineer Location: Mississauga (Hybrid, two days onsite) Job Type: Permanent full time We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with a strong background in cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and virtualization technologies. In this role, you’ll lead and contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure systems that support enterprise-wide operations. You’ll work across both traditional on-premises environments (85%) and modern cloud services (15%), ensuring high availability, performance, and security of systems. A core focus of your role will be to provide observation, documentation, and recommendations for systems and processes. You will also assist in mentoring and supporting the existing team. Responsibilities: - Lead and contribute to infrastructure projects involving Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, public cloud environments, and enterprise-grade hardware and systems. - Act as the Infrastructure SME and provide technical guidance and thought leadership. - Manage and optimize virtualization environments, including Cisco UCS, VMware, SANs, and iSCSI networks and Firewall. - Maintain and administer Active Directory and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) environments. - Document system architectures, configurations, and procedures; contribute to infrastructure roadmaps. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). - 7 years in a senior or lead infrastructure role managing enterprise-level systems and delivering complex projects. - Proven experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, and enterprise hardware platforms like Cisco UCS. - Strong knowledge of SANs, iSCSI networking, and enterprise storage architecture. - Demonstrated experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions, particularly Veeam. - Expertise in managing Active Directory, Group Policy, and Entra ID (Azure AD) environments.
