Job Description
Senior Business Analyst Location: Toronto, ON Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote) From October 20, 2025: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote From January 5, 2026: Fully onsite (5 days per week) Must-Have Qualifications Strong knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI applications 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst Expertise in Checkpoints, TRA, PIA, Component Architecture, and Design Patterns Demonstrated experience preparing detailed analysis and recommendations to ensure compliance with security, privacy, and accessibility standards Deep understanding of Logical and Physical Architecture artifacts Proven ability to create Wireframes, Use Cases, and User Stories 5 years of experience creating enterprise architecture documentation , including: Checkpoint/Gating Matrix Logical and Physical Documentation Logical and Physical Deployment Models Business Architecture Approach Sequence Diagrams Data Flow Diagrams Architectural documentation for governance and review approvals Position Summary The Senior Business Analyst will provide a comprehensive range of business analysis services to support diverse business and technology initiatives. The role involves working closely with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather, document, and analyze business requirements and translate them into actionable IT and operational solutions. Key Responsibilities Lead and conduct business analysis to assess business challenges and opportunities, documenting requirements to guide IT solutions Apply re-engineering concepts to enhance business processes and service delivery models Conduct business analysis at various levels of detail, aligned with enterprise architecture and project management standards Develop strategies, business cases, feasibility studies , and cost-benefit analyses for new initiatives Establish structured processes for requirements gathering (e.g., JAD sessions, interviews, mockups) Conduct business, use case, data flow, and process modeling Define business rules and non-functional requirements for assigned projects Monitor progress, address risks and issues, and provide regular status reporting Develop performance measures and traceability matrices for requirements management Stay current with emerging IT trends and technologies to provide informed recommendations Required Skills and Experience Business Analysis (50%) Proven experience in service-oriented design projects Understanding of systems environments, business analysis, and change management Demonstrated ability to ensure compliance with security, privacy, and accessibility standards Knowledge of security considerations impacting integrated systems and front-end applications Experience producing technical and business documentation , agreements, and analysis reports Expertise in architectural frameworks such as the Zachman Framework Strong understanding of Checkpoints, TRA, PIA, and Component Architecture Hands-on experience working with Logical and Physical Architecture deliverables Skilled at developing user stories , acceptance criteria , and collaborating with Agile/DevOps teams Technical Experience (20%) Strong grasp of systems design and development principles , programming concepts , and related methodologies In-depth knowledge of WCAG 2.0 and AODA accessibility standards Expertise in developing Wireframes, Use Cases, and User Stories Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI technologies Project Experience (30%) Minimum 5 years of experience producing enterprise architecture documentation , including: Checkpoint/Gating Matrix Logical and Physical Documentation Logical and Physical Deployment Models Business Architecture Approach Sequence and Data Flow Diagrams Architectural documentation for governance approvals Desirable Skills Experience with information retrieval tools and CASE (Computer-Aided Software Engineering) tools Knowledge of Information Management principles, policies, and best practices Ability to translate business and data requirements into technical specifications Experience with business process modeling and object-oriented or Agile methodologies Knowledge of AODA compliance and related accessibility standards
