Manager, Platform Engineering Reports To: Director, Cloud Infrastructure Architecture and Engineering Compensation: Salary Bonus RRSP Pension Benefits Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Manager, Platform Engineering to lead a team of 6–8 senior infrastructure engineers in the design, implementation, and support of a mission-critical enterprise platform. This role is primarily focused on on-premises infrastructure (90% on-prem, 10% cloud), balancing operational stability with strategic improvements and future-state initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a high-performing technical team responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of enterprise platform infrastructure. Provide technical leadership for escalated incidents and complex problems, ensuring swift resolution and minimal business disruption. Drive operational efficiency through system improvements and process optimization. Oversee a 24/7 operational environment (team participates in on-call rotation). Role Composition 30% BAU (incident response, maintenance, operational support) 30% Systems efficiency improvements 30% Management, strategic projects, and future-state planning Technical Environment Backup: Commvault Servers & Storage: Dell Virtualization & Hyperconverged Infrastructure: Nutanix – converging computing, storage, and networking into a single platform to simplify IT operations, enhance scalability, and improve performance across on-prem and cloud environments. Core Services: Active Directory, virtualization, enterprise storage, backup systems Data Centre: Strong emphasis on enterprise-grade, high-availability operations Qualifications Proven managerial experience leading platform engineering and infrastructure support teams. 5 years of hands-on technical experience with strong leadership capabilities. Comprehensive expertise in: Virtualization Storage Backup Active Directory Strong data centre operations experience. Ability to lead in a 24/7 environment with on-call responsibilities. Work Model Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite – (Downtown Toronto - Bloor and Islington)
