Job Description

The EHS Coordinator advises departments on occupational health and safety in compliance with Mexican Official Standards (NOM). This role ensures workplace safety through audits, training, risk assessments, and program implementation. It also supports environmental compliance, hazardous materials management, and continuous improvement of EHS systems and culture. Primary Responsibilities • Advise departments on NOM compliance and occupational health and safety standards • Evaluate workplace conditions and manage HSE indicators and corrective actions • Coordinate safety trainings, awareness campaigns, and emergency drills • Conduct internal/external audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented • Manage hazardous materials transport and industrial waste compliance • Support environmental licensing and documentation • Administer local EHS systems and publish performance metrics • Participate in incident investigations and safety committee meetings • Lead EHS onboarding and define technical competencies and training programs • Collaborate with LATAM EHS teams and support regional audits and initiatives Minimum Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Engineering, Environmental, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering • Over 5 years of experience in the construction industry (chemical industry experience is a plus) • Knowledge of Mexican Official Standards (NOM) and ISO 14001/45001 • Familiarity with OSHA construction standards • Legal authorization to work in Mexico Preferred Requirements • Advanced English proficiency • Certifications in EHS (e.g., STPS, ISO Lead Auditor) • Experience in contractor management and large-scale project environments • Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
