Job Description

The COD (Customer Oriented Design Engineer will be responsible for exploring, developing and drive efforts to get best and optimized solution for different customer requests with focus in all the core cases portfolio. The COD will lead and solve complex problems and participate in the specification, design by developing a deep understanding of customer needs and translating them into functional solutions to provide safe and effective products. Responsibilities: • Develop engineer solutions with cost and manufacturing optimization. • Creation of structural design, piping design, creation of 3D models, assemblies and drawings to create specifications • Responsible to fulfill the customer needs in terms of time wise and functionality through the implementation of the engineering developed as a solution of the request. • Coordinate a cross functional team involved in the implementation of the solution given. • Developing new mechanical solutions that meet all customer and regulatory requirements, including proper component selection, sizing, protection, and conformance with industry standards. • Work as a team always supporting activities related with COD position to achieve KPIs applicable to the area. • Responsible to create deviations when COD projects are not completed in the proper time to manufacture our products with changes requested by customer. Also, responsible to following closely the production order involved when deviations are created and applied. • Capable of learning different database software and system tools to make more efficient activities. • Engage in continuous and personalized learning programs to broaden technical knowledge in mechanical engineering, thermodynamics, and electrical engineering. • Review and update engineering documentation, including product, parts and mechanical drawings, mechanical piping diagrams, instructions/MOA´s. • Create and communicate project plans, tasks and deliverables and manage time to meet project deadlines. This includes reporting pertinent information at key milestones through clear, concise oral and written communications. • Mentor other members of the Engineering team to aid in the development of design knowledge. Requirements: • BS degree(s) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Electrical, Mechatronics or any similar career. Master’s degree is a PLUS • 3 years’ experience mechanical refrigeration components, implementation, validations and related applications • Excellent communication skills, oral & written. • Good understanding of the English language. • Strong analytical skills. Must possess the following skills/competencies: • Knowledge and hands on experience with using mechanical components in refrigeration or HVAC or other related industry. • Experience in validating mechanical components, subcomponents, sheetmetal and pipings. • Ability to draft on CAD, minimum requirements in drafting proficiency shall include the ability to create from scratch and edit existing 3D drawings. • Experience with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Solid Edge (Similar 3D CAD software). • Experience with Bill of Material Structures and Engineering Change processes. • Technical understanding of refrigeration system design, electrical and electronic component functionality. • Teamwork, personal accountability and solution driven behaviors.
