Support Engineer

Duration: Fixed Term Experience Level: 2 years Location: Onsite – Monterrey, Mexico Overview: We are seeking a MES Shopfloor / Field Support Engineer to provide onsite hardware and software support at our customer’s manufacturing plant in Monterrey, Mexico. This role is critical for ensuring business continuity and minimizing downtime by maintaining and troubleshooting MES systems and related devices on the production floor. Key Responsibilities: Provide onsite hardware and software support for MES workstations in production areas. Maintain and troubleshoot desktops, thermal printers (Zebra, SATO), barcode printers, RF guns, scanners (Motorola, Intermec), Cognex cameras, and label applicators. Support MES configurations, installations, and testing for new production lines and strategic projects. Ensure operational continuity by providing 24/7 coverage through a rotating shift schedule. Execute annual preventive maintenance and assist with physical inventory audits. Deliver training to production line operators and end users. Participate in weekend or off-hour projects as required. Role Expectations: Respond quickly to IT issues with a strong sense of urgency and customer focus. Collaborate with production teams to ensure minimal disruption during troubleshooting or maintenance. Document processes and provide clear guidance for future scalability. Maintain high standards of reliability and operational efficiency. Qualifications: Technical degree in IT, Electronics, or related field. 2 years of experience in manufacturing IT or MES shopfloor support. Familiarity with Windows 10, Office 365, and basic SQL queries. Experience with OPC systems and PLC or Vision Camera (Cognex) integration (desirable). English level: Intermediate (70%). Availability for rotating shifts (day/afternoon/night) and weekends when required. Must have a sense of urgency, customer focus, and teamwork. Own car or reliable transportation preferred.
