Building Services Manager

A prestigious opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Services Manager to take a leading role in the delivery of a landmark mixed-use redevelopment on Oxford Street, London, the transformation of a former department store into a high-spec commercial and retail destination. As Building Services Manager, you’ll oversee the coordination, installation, and commissioning of complex MEP systems on this logistically challenging, high-value project along other BSM's. You’ll be managing one of the UK’s most respected M&E subcontractors, a Tier 1 partner known for their technical excellence and reliability, ensuring seamless delivery across all stages of construction. This is a flagship scheme in one of London’s busiest commercial districts, offering a unique opportunity for a seasoned Building Services professional to make a tangible impact on one of the capital’s most recognisable addresses. Key Responsibilities Lead the on-site delivery and coordination of all MEP works, maintaining quality, safety, and programme performance. Manage and interface with the main M&E subcontractor and specialist trades to ensure technical excellence and efficiency. Oversee installation sequencing, testing, and commissioning, ensuring all systems meet design intent and performance criteria. Collaborate closely with project, design, and commercial teams to drive integration across all disciplines. Identify and implement value engineering opportunities to improve buildability and cost efficiency. Lead technical reviews, approvals, and inspections to maintain compliance and quality assurance. Ensure effective stakeholder communication, client engagement, and smooth system handover. About You Proven experience managing MEP delivery on complex, large-scale commercial or mixed-use developments. Strong understanding of building services systems, sequencing, and technical interfaces within existing structures. Excellent coordination and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate on-site teams and manage key subcontractor relationships. Commercially aware, well-organised, and capable of managing high-value MEP packages in demanding environments. Adaptable and solution-oriented, thriving under the challenges of central London delivery.
