Senior Controls Engineer Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience) Location: Havant, UK Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role We’re seeking a talented Senior Controls Engineer to join our growing automation team based in Havant. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design, development, and commissioning of advanced control systems for a wide range of industrial automation projects. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you’ll take ownership of full project lifecycles — from concept and design through to commissioning — working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, high-quality automation solutions. You’ll be instrumental in driving innovation, ensuring system reliability, and maintaining our reputation for engineering excellence. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems using Siemens TIA Portal . Manage automation projects from concept through to site commissioning. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to integrate complete automation solutions. Conduct testing, fault-finding, and troubleshooting on control systems. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards. Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and automation best practices. Requirements Strong experience with Siemens TIA Portal (essential). Proven background in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming . Experience within industrial automation, manufacturing, or process control environments. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
