Shipping Officer

Shipping Officer; Stevenage; Duration 12 months; £20.00ph paye/ £26.85 via umbrella; Inside IR35 We have a vacancy for an experienced Shipping Officer to work on a 12-month contract working for an aerospace client based in Stevenage. The successful candidate would bring with them experience in shipping within the UK road transport. You will prepare domestic documentation and liaise with transport providers. You will liaise and work closely with our client's in house export control team, customs department and our freight forwarders. Role Outline What will you be doing? Timely delivery of product in line with project demands Creation, completion and management of documentation required to effect domestic deliveries, to include, transport documents, hazardous goods note etc. Ensure topicality of Transport Registers, Hazardous Goods Register Arrange UK transport movements. This also includes liaising closely with Security and Export control departments. Identify process improvements to create an efficient and cost-effective service Day to day knowledge of all movements from site General day to day housekeeping, ensuring any required administrative duties are completed for each shipment, ensuring we are audit compliant at all times Keeping up to date with the archiving and scanning Promotion of functional excellence Skills and experience required. Detailed knowledge of transport legislation Expereience of working within an engineering / manufacturing organisation Experience of using SAP Strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft applications Ability to adapt style of communication to ensure effective delivery of service Interpersonal skills across different business functions Experience of working under pressure to set deadlines Strength of character not to deviate from process when other demands conflict A strong communicator (both written and verbal) with attention to detail Organised with excellent time management skills Able to prioritise and work to deadlines without supervision Please note that in order to apply for this opportunity you will need to be eligible for SC (Secret Level) UK Security Clearance Morson is acting as an employment business in relation to this vacancy.
