Electrical Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer (Contract – Outside IR35) Location: North London (Office-Based) Contract Length: Minimum 6 Months ️ Sector: Building Services / Data Centre A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join its expanding design team. This contract role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile data centre and building services projects, contributing to detailed design development and service coordination. Key Responsibilities Conduct site surveys, testing, and reporting on existing installations Attend technical meetings with design teams and contractors Perform electrical calculations using Amtech, ProDesign, or similar software Prepare technical drawings and tender specifications Mentor and oversee junior engineers and trainees Skills & Experience Proficient in electrical design and specification across various building types Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) Familiarity with British Standards and building regulations Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines High attention to detail and quality output Preferred Qualifications Degree in Electrical or Environmental Engineering HNC/ONC/BTEC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent This is a contract role operating outside IR35.
