Shift Engineer

Lichfield, United Kingdom

Job Description

Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias) – £51,000 – Lichfield Panama Shift Pattern – 12-hour days & nights, rotating If you like the idea of keeping a factory full of shiny new kit running – and don’t mind occasionally swearing at it when it stops – read on. This is an electrical bias role, but you’ll still need to get your hands dirty with the mechanical side. It’s a mix of planned maintenance and “it’s just broken, fix it now” moments. The good news? You’ll be working in a site that’s had serious investment in equipment and technology, so you won’t be spending all day coaxing antiques back to life. The work: Keep production equipment running. Fix breakdowns quickly (downtime is expensive and nobody likes it). Do the planned maintenance that stops things breaking in the first place. Help with start-ups, testing, and fine-tuning. Log everything properly so nobody’s guessing what happened. What you’ll need: An NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent apprenticeship). Strong electrical skills, with decent mechanical knowledge too. Manufacturing experience – food is a bonus, not a deal-breaker. A proactive, safety-first approach. What’s in it for you: £51k salary. 23 days’ holiday (goes up with service) buy more if you want. Free staff transport from Lichfield, Burton, Cannock, Rugeley & Burntwood. Life Assurance – 3x salary. 24/7 access to GP, mental health support, and legal advice. Tailored training & development – because getting better at your job should be part of the job. Discounts, gym/bike schemes, recognition awards… the usual perks. If you can keep the lines moving and don’t mind the odd night shift, send your CV or give me a call
