Mechanical Fitter

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to be part of an exciting multi-year project at a brand-new manufacturing facility in Stockport, Greater Manchester. What’s in it for you? * £20 p/h overtime at enhanced rates * Mon – Thu | 7 am – 3:30 pm (Early finish Fridays – 12pm) * Job security – 10 year contract * 7% enhanced pension & unionised workplace * Army Leaver integration programme * Supportive management team * Onsite parking & canteen facilities * Career progression opportunities What will you be doing as a Mechanical Fitter? * Working on one of the largest MOD projects ever awarded * Maintaining and repairing HGVs and heavy-duty military vehicles * Diagnosing faults using technical manuals & diagnostic tools * Implementing safety, quality, and compliance procedures * Collaborating with a skilled team in a high-tech environment What do you need? * 5 years’ experience as a Heavy Mechanical Fitter * Mechanical Engineering Certification (City & Guilds / NVQ) - desirable * Experience in vehicle assembly or maintenance (desirable) * A military background (advantageous) * Excellent problem-solving & teamwork skills Apply now and be part of a game-changing project.
