Commercial Gas Engineer

Job Title: Commercial Gas Engineer Location: Crawley (covering M23 corridor, North into Croydon, Brixton, South London, and Kent) Salary: £41,000 – £47,000 per annum Company Van (not for personal use) Holidays: 26 days plus bank holidays On-Call: £140 retainer per week, enhanced pay for call-outs We are looking for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our dedicated team, supporting a portfolio of national retail contracts. This is a mobile role covering multiple commercial retail sites, delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault-finding, and small works across gas systems and HVAC plant. You’ll be confident working independently in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment, ensuring compliance and high standards of service at all times. Key Duties: * Boiler lockouts and resets * Faults with warm air units and radiant tube heaters * Gas leaks and isolation valve issues * Pilot light or ignition failures * Heating system pressure loss or circulation problems * Gas interlock faults in kitchens or plant rooms * Faulty thermostats, sensors, or actuators * Emergency call-outs for heating and hot water failures Requirements: * Valid commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1/1A, etc.) – Essential * Strong knowledge of heating systems, boilers, and associated plant * Experience in retail, commercial, or multi-site maintenance environments preferred * Comfortable with both planned and reactive work * Willing to participate in an on-call rota (enhanced pay) * Full UK driving licence * F-Gas qualification desirable Benefits: * £41,000 – £47,000 per annum * Company van provided * 26 days holiday plus bank holidays * £140 on-call retainer, enhanced pay for weekends and bank holidays * Opportunity to work across a varied commercial portfolio with a supportive team If you are a skilled Commercial Gas Engineer looking for a stable, rewarding role with excellent benefits, apply now to join our team
