Job Description

The Opportunity: The WIP Analyst role involves managing and monitoring Partner WIP review activity for a selection of practice groups. The successful candidate will monitor and support timely billing of WIP for the supply of legal services, with a view to reducing unbilled WIP levels, aged WIP and potential losses. A key focus of the role will be to identify key roadblocks through regular WIP reviews, ensuring root causes are resolved, completing billing forecasts and driving quality billing against target. The WIP Analyst will regularly liaise with relevant Partners, business managers and finance managers to discuss progress. Key responsibilities of the role include: Establishing and maintaining relationships across the business with Partners, secretaries and business managers. Attending regular WIP review meetings with Partners and secretaries to understand the nature of WIP balances and agree on appropriate billing actions. Reviewing Aged WIP, missed billing targets, high WIP/lockup days and coordinate escalations. Maintaining and regularly updating matter WIP activities in line with established best practice. Preparing reports for major client accounts, Partners or clients as requested. This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Glasgow office with hybrid working. About you: The successful candidate will have: Previous experience working in a similar WIP management or a billing role, preferably in a legal or professional services environment (advantageous but not essential). Excellent attention to detail. Ability to liaise at all levels and build strong relations with internal clients. Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
