Civils Estimator

A leading civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundwork projects across London and the South East is looking to appoint an experienced Civils Estimator to join their expanding pre-construction team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with a strong project pipeline going into 2026. The company operates across sectors including infrastructure, highways, utilities, and complex groundworks, working on schemes typically valued between £1m – £20m. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare accurate cost estimates for civil engineering projects during tender and pre-construction phases * Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive tenders * Liaise closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams to ensure competitive and compliant bids * Identify value engineering opportunities and contribute to bid strategy * Assist with post-tender negotiations and handover to delivery teams Experience & Requirements: * Proven background working as an Estimator within the civil engineering or groundworks sector (minimum 3–5 years) * Strong understanding of infrastructure, groundworks, utilities, or highways projects * Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a sharp commercial focus * Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Excel * Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team Why Apply: * Join a growing, reputable contractor with a solid forward order book * Opportunity to work on a variety of complex and high-profile civils projects * Competitive salary and package, with genuine career progression prospects
