Sustainability Manager

Sustainability / Environmental Lead – Data Centre Project Location: Newport, South Wales £70,000-£75,000 Benefits (car allowance, pension etc.) A leading international main contractor is seeking a Sustainability / Environmental Advisor to join their team on a major new build hyperscale data centre development in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a progressive organisation delivering complex, high-tech projects across the UK and Europe. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and best practices across the lifecycle of the project. Key Responsibilities: • Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and company standards • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments • Support the delivery of sustainability strategies and targets (e.g. BREEAM, circular economy, carbon reduction) • Advise site teams on environmental and sustainability matters • Prepare environmental reports and maintain project documentation • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and third-party stakeholders • Promote a culture of continuous environmental improvement on-site Requirements: • A degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related discipline • Prior experience working in a similar advisory role within construction • Knowledge of relevant UK environmental legislation and sustainability frameworks • Strong communication and organisational skills • Previous experience on data centre or high-tech construction projects is highly desirable What’s on Offer: • Competitive salary excellent benefits package • Long-term opportunity on a landmark project • Join a respected contractor with a strong track record across Europe in delivering technically complex schemes • Genuine chance to progress your career to a Regional Manager role in the future If you're passionate about sustainability and want to make a real impact on a high-profile project, this could be the ideal role for you
