Health & Safety Advisor – Major Construction Project | Newport John Paul Construction are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our team on a major long-term project in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on a high-profile build, working alongside our on-site Health & Safety Lead. The Role This is a boots-on-the-ground position, with a strong focus on site presence and proactive engagement. You will work closely with operatives, subcontractors, and staff to ensure the highest health and safety standards are consistently enforced across the project. Key Responsibilities: * Supporting and advising the Health & Safety Lead on all site safety matters * Enforcing compliance with health & safety legislation, company procedures, and project requirements * Carrying out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments * Engaging directly with operatives and supervisors to promote a strong safety culture * Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions where required About You: * Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or civil engineering * Background in major projects (data centre, industrial, commercial or infrastructure preferred) * Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively on-site with all levels of staff and subcontractors * NEBOSH or equivalent qualification essential What’s on Offer: * 3-year project with excellent long-term security * Offered on a permanent or freelance basis * Competitive package and the opportunity to progress within a leading contractor This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive Health & Safety professional who thrives in a site-based role and is looking to make a real impact on a flagship project.
