Senior Electrical Design Engineer Location - Portsmouth, with occasional travel to client sites across the UK. Salary - Negotiable depending on experience Please note - To be successful in this role, you will need to be eligible for UK Security Clearance. We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a growing team delivering complex and high-profile design projects across sectors such as Defence, Building Infrastructure and Commercial. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong design experience who enjoys leading technical projects from concept through to completion. You’ll play a key part in developing safe, efficient, and sustainable electrical systems that meet both client and regulatory standards. What You’ll Do * Lead and deliver electrical design projects from initial concept to final handover. * Produce and review schematics, calculations, and layouts using modern design tools. * Ensure all work meets UK standards and regulations (BS7671, Building Regs, MOD JSPs, etc.). * Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless delivery. * Carry out site visits, surveys, and risk assessments. * Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. * Support tender and bid submissions with technical input. * Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover stages. About You * Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related field. * Ideally Chartered or working towards professional registration (IET preferred). * Around 5 years’ experience in electrical design across multiple sectors. * Confident using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, and Dialux. * Strong communicator with great stakeholder management skills. * Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
