Job Title: Project Manager – Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Rollout Location: UK (Remote / Hybrid – with occasional site visits) Contract Type: Initial 6 - 12 months, outside IR35 Day Rate / Salary: TBD Overview: Our client is a leading national construction firm that is looking to expand their current offering and build on their recent success. As part of this expansion, they are implementing a secure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution within their Microsoft Azure environment. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of this VDI rollout. The successful candidate will coordinate technical teams, ensure compliance with security standards, and deliver a secure and efficient desktop experience for users. Key Responsibilities: Deliver the end-to-end implementation of a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solution within an Azure environment. Define and manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and governance processes. Work closely with IT, Cloud, Infrastructure, and Cyber Security teams to ensure successful delivery. Manage stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams. Oversee user acceptance testing, rollout, training, and transition into business-as-usual support. Provide regular project reporting, risk management, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle. Essential Skills and Experience: 10 years’ experience delivering IT infrastructure or cloud transformation projects. Working knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies, such as: Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Citrix or VMware Horizon (advantageous) FSLogix or Windows 365 Cloud PC Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure fundamentals and cloud architecture principles. Experience managing projects in secure or regulated environments. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and governance skills. Experience with PRINCE2, Agile, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
