Job Description
Role Overview We’re seeking a Legal Senior Director to lead and scale our legal function. This person will be responsible for designing, building, and leading the legal organization from “0 to 1” — putting in place frameworks, processes, policies, and a team that can support rapid growth, global operations, and cross‑functional strategy. Key Responsibilities Build and lead a legal team: hire, mentor, and manage internal lawyers and external resources. Establish governance structures, policies, processes that enable scale (corporate structure, compliance framework, contract templates, approval workflows). Oversee all aspects of regulatory and legal compliance: labor & employment, tax, consumer protection, data privacy (local and international), regulatory licensing, antitrust/competition, etc. Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements: vendor/supplier agreements, partnerships, licensing, customer contracts. Serve as trusted legal advisor to business leaders, helping evaluate risk while enabling speed. Lead or support litigation or dispute resolution when necessary. Monitor changes in laws/regulation; anticipate risk and proactively advise business on design of business models to mitigate legal/regulatory exposure. Aid in market entry: setting up entities, corporate registrations, permits, relationships with regulators where needed. Collaborate across international jurisdictions if applicable. What We’re Looking For LLB or equivalent; admitted to practice law. Significant in‑house legal leadership experience (e.g. Director / Senior Counsel) ideally in tech, internet services, digital platform business, or fast‑growing scaleups. Proven track record in taking legal functions from early stage (0→1) to scale: designing processes, building teams, putting in place governance. Broad generalist knowledge: contracts, regulatory, compliance, consumer & data privacy, sourcing/licensing, etc. Strong ability to make decisions under ambiguity, balancing risk and speed. Excellent communication & negotiation skills (internal and external stakeholders). Experience with competition law/antitrust cases, engaging with CADE. Fluent in English and Portuguese. Experience working across multiple jurisdictions is a plus. What You’ll Get Opportunity to shape and build the legal function in a high‑impact, fast growth environment. Collaborating closely with senior leadership and across all business units. Competitive compensation equity. Flexible work environment; investment in professional development.
