Solutions Engineer with Security Clearance

Solutions Engineer Location: On-Site – Huntsville, AL or Franklin, NC​ Salary Range: $180,000 – $200,000​ Employment Type: Full-Time​ Travel: Approximately 25% between Huntsville, AL and Franklin, NC About the Role We are seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer to lead the development and technical lifecycle of advanced radar and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems that support mission-critical defense applications. As a senior-level technical leader, the Solutions Engineer will define the technology vision, guide multidisciplinary engineering teams, and drive execution from concept through production and sustainment. This role blends systems engineering expertise with hands-on leadership, making it ideal for a seasoned engineer ready to operate at a strategic level. What You’ll Do ●​ Lead the end-to-end technical lifecycle of radar and ATE product lines—from requirements and design through production and sustainment. ●​ Define and execute technical roadmaps that align with organizational strategy and customer needs. ●​ Translate complex system requirements into actionable engineering specifications. ●​ Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams to ensure design quality and mission performance. ●​ Support business development through technical input during opportunity identification, pursuit, and proposal phases. ●​ Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to align solutions with operational goals. ●​ Perform risk assessments, technical reviews, and compliance evaluations. ●​ Ensure adherence to industry standards, export control, and security regulations. ●​ Travel approximately 25% between Huntsville, AL and Franklin, NC for project coordination and technical reviews. What You’ll Bring , ●​ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred). ●​ 7 years of experience in radar system development, RF electronics, or test systems engineering. ●​ 3 years of technical leadership experience, preferably in defense or aerospace sectors. ●​ Proven ability to manage complex programs integrating both hardware and software components. ●​ Strong understanding of ATE architectures, including hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and RF test systems. ●​ Familiarity with radar signal processing, sensor integration, and system verification. ●​ Proficiency with engineering and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and DOORS. ●​ U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance. Preferred Qualifications ●​ Leadership in ATE design and development for radar, avionics, or defense electronics. ●​ Experience with MIL-STD compliance, environmental testing, and automated diagnostics. ●​ Hands-on experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, or Python for test automation. ●​ Background in Agile or hybrid hardware/software development methodologies.
