Head of Sustainable Agriculture & Agronomy Confidential Search - Based in the Southeast of France Introduction We are supporting a global organisation in the search for a visionary Head of Sustainable Agriculture & Agronomy ; a newly created, high-impact position that will shape the company's long-term sustainability and sourcing strategy. The Role & the Opportunity This is not a maintenance role, it's a creation role. The successful candidate will be tasked with building and steering a cohesive agricultural vision for the business, bringing together existing initiatives and pioneering new ones that ensure the long-term integrity and traceability of the company's natural raw materials. Working closely with procurement, sustainability, and R&D teams, you will translate agricultural science into measurable business value and tangible environmental progress. You will play a central part in defining what sustainable sourcing truly means for a global company, balancing innovation with practicality, supporting farming communities, and fostering genuine regeneration across diverse landscapes. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a global roadmap for sustainable and scientific agriculture , aligned with corporate sourcing and sustainability goals. Drive the deployment of regenerative and resilient farming practices , adapted to strategic supply chains and global sourcing regions. Collaborate closely with R&D, Procurement, Sustainability, and Manufacturing teams to ensure a unified and cross-functional approach. Lead pilot projects and measure impact on carbon footprint, biodiversity, traceability, and community welfare . Build and coordinate a network of agronomists and external partners , ensuring consistency and innovation across all projects. Identify and promote new agricultural technologies and partnerships that combine performance and environmental value. Act as an ambassador for sustainability, both internally and externally, ensuring continuous progress and accountability. Key Requirements Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering , or a related scientific field. 8-12 years of experience in applied agronomy, sustainability, or agricultural supply chains within an international context. Deep understanding of regenerative practices, biodiversity, and sustainable sourcing models . Proven experience managing complex projects across countries and functions. Entrepreneurial and business-oriented mindset, able to bridge science and strategy . Strong communicator with leadership presence and the ability to influence without authority . Fluent in English and native level of French Willingness to travel internationally (up to 50%). Additional Information This position is based in the Southeast of France , with international exposure and the flexibility to travel regularly to key sourcing regions worldwide.
