Senior Ecologist

I’m working with a well-established and expanding environmental consultancy that’s looking to grow its team with the addition of a Senior Ecologist . You'll be joining a knowledgeable and supportive team delivering ecological services across planning, biodiversity, and environmental impact for a broad range of development clients. Who I’m looking for: Experience delivering ecological consultancy services across a range of projects Protected species licences (e.g. bats, dormice, herpetofauna) or working towards them Confident in writing technical reports, EcIAs, and ecology chapters for EIAs Knowledge of Biodiversity Net Gain and use of the Defra Metric Strong botanical skills and familiarity with UKHab classifications Comfortable using QGIS and bat call analysis software Ideally a Full Member of CIEEM What you’ll be working on: Protected species and habitat surveys across varied UK sites Developing mitigation strategies and preparing development licence applications Contributing to Environmental Impact Assessments and biodiversity assessments Supporting and mentoring junior ecologists Liaising with clients, planning authorities and design teams Why join: Varied and engaging project work across sectors Supportive team with professional development and mentoring opportunities Flexible working and collaborative culture Be part of a company delivering real environmental impact on the ground If you're an ecologist looking for your next step and this sounds like the right move for you, get in touch with Monica Windle at Altura Search to discuss the role in more detail.
