Mechanical Design Engineer

• £40–£45 p/h (Outside IR35) • Hybrid – Leeds 2 days / week • 6 Month Contract (potentially 4 years' work) This is a great opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join an engineering company supporting their client on an extensive CSO upgrade programme . You’ll be delivering detailed mechanical designs for multiple small wastewater sites, following standard templates and specifications. What you’ll be doing: Producing mechanical detailed designs for CSO sites — including screens, penstocks, valves, and washwater systems Preparing GA drawings, P&IDs, and equipment schedules Coordinating with E&I and civil teams to ensure integrated, efficient designs Providing technical input and support during design reviews and construction phases Must have: Proven mechanical design experience within water or wastewater treatment projects Ideally have water or wastewater treatment projects experience such as CSOs, pumping stations, and screening systems Next Steps: Interested in a technically steady, repeatable design role on a major AMP framework?
