Senior HVDC Studies Engineer

About the Role: We are seeking a Senior HVDC Studies Engineer to join our global engineering consulting team. The role involves delivering specialist power system consultancy services across transmission, distribution, and HVDC projects, providing innovative and cost-effective solutions to clients. Key Responsibilities: Conduct feasibility, design, and advisory studies for HVDC systems. Perform insulation coordination, protection settings, cable thermal ratings, transformer design, system losses calculations, earthing (CDEGs), and cost/benefit analysis. Develop and run system models using software such as PowerFactory, PSS/E, IPSA, ETAP, PSCAD, EMTP-ATP, ERACS, or SKM. Use modelling languages like DPL or Python to support simulations and studies. Support bids, business development, and client engagement initiatives. Work both independently and as part of multi-disciplinary project teams to meet client objectives. Skills & Experience: Strong experience in HVDC system studies and power system analysis. Proficiency in relevant power system software and modelling languages. Solid understanding of transmission and distribution networks. Ability to translate client requirements into practical, efficient engineering solutions. Excellent communication and collaborative skills for working with technical teams and clients globally.
