RINA is currently recruiting for a Italy Marine Technical Support Engineer to join its office in Napoli within the Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division. Mission A Marine Technical Engineer in RINA technical support center contribute to maintain maritime safety, environmental standards, and regulatory compliance. LI-MC1 Key Accountabilities Technical Support and Client Assistance: Provide expert technical guidance to shipowners, operators, and various maritime stakeholders on classification rules, regulatory compliance, and best practices in marine engineering operations. Offer prompt and accurate responses to technical inquiries, ensuring clarity and professionalism. Issue Diagnosis and Resolution: Collaborate closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to identify root causes of technical difficulties. Recommend effective and practical solutions while ensuring adherence to classification and safety standards. Handle cases of non-compliance with attention to detail and regulatory requirements. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to surveys, inspections, and technical evaluations. Assist in preparing comprehensive technical reports and data documentation that clearly outline findings, compliance status, risk factors, and strategic recommendations. Teamwork and Interdepartmental Collaboration: Engage actively within a collaborative environment alongside naval architects, marine engineers, and technical specialists to deliver cohesive and high-quality classification services. Facilitate knowledge sharing and foster a culture of mutual support and continuous learning. Safety Advocacy and Compliance Culture: Champion maritime safety initiatives and promote a proactive safety culture both internally and with clients. Ensure that all activities align with applicable international regulations, industry codes, and company policies fostering environmental stewardship and operational safety. Continuous Professional Development: Stay abreast of evolving maritime regulations, technological innovations, and industry trends. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical competencies and contribute to the organisation’s thought leadership. Travel and Client Engagement: Prepare to undertake travel assignments up to 25% of the time to support on-site inspections, client meetings, and collaborative projects, adapting flexibly to varied operational contexts. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Engineering Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience in marine technical support or a similar role within the maritime industry. Strong understanding of classification rules and regulations (e.g., IACS, SOLAS, MARPOL) and their application in marine operations. Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving technical issues related to ship operations, machinery, and compliance. Experience in surveying, inspections, and technical assessments, with the ability to maintain and analyze KPI data. Ability to prepare detailed technical reports, document findings, and communicate recommendations clearly to clients and stakeholders. Collaborative mindset with experience in working alongside senior engineers, naval architects, and other professionals in a team-oriented environment. A strong focus on safety standards, promoting safe practices in maritime operations and ensuring compliance with industry safety regulations. Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues, addressing technical queries and providing clear guidance. Familiarity with marine operations, technical performance review, and supporting compliance audits and assessments.
