Job Description

Job Title: Project Engineer Summary: In this role, you coordinate and implement investment projects assigned by the Capital Investment & Engineering Manager, ensuring their execution meets all safety, timeline, cost, and quality requirements. You will have a specialist focus on mechanical and civil engineering aspects, providing technical expertise and oversight during design and implementation while adhering to Momentive’s engineering standards. Additionally, you will coordinate and supervise contractors and suppliers, ensuring that all work and deliverables comply with established safety, quality, and performance expectations. 1. Project Management and Coordination Coordinate and implement investment projects assigned by the Capital Investment & Engineering Manager, supporting the achievement of objectives in terms of budget, schedule, resources, priorities, and quality. Manage projects following Project Management methodologies, including planning, organizing, and monitoring activities. Coordinate cross-functional teams for the development of assigned projects, ensuring objectives are met. Coordinate and supervise the activities of suppliers and contractors in the fields of mechanical, civil, thermal insulation, surface treatment, and painting, ensuring that materials, services, and supplies comply with technical specifications, schedules, costs, quality, and safety standards. Oversee daily project activities through work permit issuance and on-site supervision, managing suppliers and contractors under their responsibility. Manage direct interactions with suppliers, including site inspections, expediting, technical checks, and operational alignments. Coordinate activities for updating P&IDs, layouts, specifications, and project documentation. Manage the creation of purchase orders in SAP for materials under their responsibility. Handle accounting for contractors, executed works, equipment, machinery, and materials received. 2. Technical Specialist Role Provide technical support to the site and ensure design and specification activities, with a focus on mechanical systems, structural components, static and rotating equipment, civil works, piping, insulation, surface treatments, and painting. Ensure that designs and installations comply with company engineering standards (piping class, materials, valve types, construction criteria, etc.), applicable regulations, and industry best practices. Provide technical solutions and guidance for project implementation, including dismantling and installation of new equipment, contributing to defining specifications and technical standards to be adopted. 3. Detailed Project Development Ensure full project development, including P&IDs, metal structures, specifications, piping layouts, planimetries, and civil drawings, complete with detailed bills of materials. Estimate material, labor, and construction costs for project budgeting and CAPEX requests. Support construction, assembly, start-up, FAT, SAT, PSSR, and commissioning activities. 4. Safety and Compliance Ensure adherence to plant safety standards and promote corporate safety principles. Ensure ergonomic implementation of plant modifications. Actively participate in HAZOPs, safety reviews, and audits. Maintain relationships with external authorities (INAIL) regarding pressure vessels and lifting equipment. 5. Collaboration and Relationships Maintain effective and collaborative communication with all corporate functions and the Project Team. Support the Capital Investment & Engineering Manager in defining the investment plan, updating annual expenditure estimates, and preparing project documentation for the management system (SAP PPM). Support project closure and the identification of newly commissioned or decommissioned assets. Collaborate with the Finance team on projects that may benefit from fiscal incentives (e.g., Industry 4.0, ZES). Qualifications Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent experience with 2 years of experience in similar roles performed within chemical manufacturing environment. Technical high school diploma with 7 years of experience in a similar role (in a technical office, design office, or experience in the construction of new chemical/pharma/oil&gas plants). Knowledge of equipment design for chemical industry. Knowledge of chemical industry Design Standards. English language knowledge (speak and write).
